ABOUT US

T.U.R.N. is a non profit community development corporation which consist of two (2) phases, community outreach and educational outreach. Over the past 10 years, your generous support has helped us accomplish our mission and our goals.
T.U.R.N in its capacity to support children, has a host of enrichment programs aimed at developing the academic as well as the socio-emotional development of students through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) activities. Our target audience consists of youth who are at risk, and individuals who are socially economically disadvantaged. Our goal is to partner with individuals and organizations to create positive change within our communities.

OUR MISSION

Food insecurity has lasting effects on children’s reading & math scores, and on children’s physical and mental health well being
Low-income students are five times more likely to drop out of high school than those who are high-income and 13 times less likely to graduate from high school on time
A study shows that not eating enough can reduce the brain's capacity to learn, and poor students quickly end up falling behind their classmates.

Tutoring and
Enrichment

Our after school tutoring program meets with students to clarify and review concepts taught in class, explain processes and help students solve specific problems.

Program

Provides nutritious meals to children who would normally receive free or reduced price meals when during the academic year.

School

The mission of the Children’s Defense Fund (CDF) is to ensure every child a healthy start, a head start, a fair start, a safe start and a moral start in life.
